What is the point in the iPhone 11 Pro Max?

Seriously @apple what’s the point

I’ll start this off by admitting that I own a boat load of apple products already and that I’m a fan of theirs, especially when it comes to security. Having said that I have come across something that is bothering me immensely. The iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Don’t get me wrong the specs are great. You get Apple’s latest A13 Bionic Chip (this thing is more powerful than the Mac book airs i3 processor) either 64GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a 6.5″ Display, 3 12MP cameras on the back and another on the front as part of its Face ID set up, 4K video recording (front & back), dual SIM cards and all the other usual stuff.

The problem I have with the Pro Max version though is that it’s exactly the same phone like the iPhone 11 Pro with a slightly bigger screen an hours extra battery life. That’s it. I really don’t see the point at all. The iPhone 11 Pro is already bigger than the iPhone 7 Plus that is my daily driver and that’s more than big enough if you need something bigger get an iPad. That’s not the only confusion when it comes to size as the iPhone 11 is bigger than the iPhone 11 Pro… I mean WTF? what happened to the days when the more letters or numbers there were after a phone the better the spec and the bigger the screen.

The other thing that is bugging the stuffing out of me is apple storage structure. have a look at the table below:

iPhone 11iPhone 11 Pro & iPhone 11 Pro Max
64GB64GB
128GB256GB
256GB512GB

Where is the 128GB option for the pro and Pro Max models? Why not just start the pro & Pro Max model at 128GB instead of 64GB? My iPhone 7 Plus has 128GB and it is perfect for me. I shoot videos in 4K and have plenty of storage for the footage, but 64GB would be useless by the time I’ve installed my apps I need for work as well as my everyday apps that 64GB will be gone. This is meant to be a phone for professionals (IT’S IN THE NAME) replace the 64GB with 128GB. I love the 512GB option and could possibly be swayed by it at some point in the future if I ever get back into capturing B-roll for productions.

I’ll be replacing my iPhone 7 Plus in the coming weeks and as you can probably tell I won’t be going with the iPhone 11 Pro Max, it’s just not worth the extra cash for an extra centimetre of the screen. I’m getting the same spec everything else so why bother.

What do you think of the latest iPhones? Which would you go with? how much storage do you need? Let me know in the comments below.

P.S. As I mentioned in my previous post I won’t be writing as often over the next little while as I’ve just started my new job. Getting back into the swing of things has me passing out quite early in the evening. I’m still going to try and write a least once a week so don’t assume I’ve died if you don’t see something from me for a few days.
