Birthdays, Driving and shopping
Please excuse the short post this week but it’s been a bit manic and I’ve not been able to make much progress on either of the two posts I’m writing at the moment, stay tuned for those in the coming weeks.
If you’re interested they are, a continuation of my Rigging for Events Series (links below) and another is a mini research project looking into what may be the best option as I look to either finish my computer build or buy a new Mac. Both are taking a little longer than I’d like.
Part of that is due to the sheer number of birthdays July has for us. Both mine and my Wife’s are at the beginning of the month and then we have my dad and sisters literally the day after each of them. Between birthdays we’ve also been driving around a fair bit looking for presents for our eldest birthday next month.
She may only be 2 but she’s difficult to buy for. We bought a ton of garden playthings for her originally but it turns out the garden has taken far longer than we planned to get sorted (though the last patch of grass has now been sown and I’m looking forward to getting the mower out in the next few weeks when I can finally get to the shed again.) So it is a bit of a mad dash to find a few things she can have and play with indoors whilst we wait for the grass to grow.
It may not sound like a lot but between all of that and work, I’ve not been able to find a lot of time to sit down and write. I’m usually a couple of weeks ahead with my posts but unfortunately, that buffer has now run out.
I do have some plans to finish out the light and video side of the Riggin for Events series before I go into deep research mode for the sound side of things (I do sound when I have to so not as informed about the latest tech there) but I’d love to get some suggestions for future post topics.
I’m thinking I may do a series on setting up a WordPress blog and some of the plugins and tools I’ve found really helpful along the way. I’m also going to be looking into a few different, I don’t want to call them projects as I don’t have anything to actually link them to at the moment, probably better to call them ideas.
A couple that have come to mind recently are, digital currencies for local residents, as I think this could really help support local shops in tourist towns such as Bridlington, where I live. I want to look back into the Online Radio setup and see what might have changed in the last couple of years as I still can’t get the idea of a community radio station out of my head and I also plan on looking into some different open source invoicing platforms.
If any of that floats your goat then check back in the coming weeks and I’ll hopefully have some posts about those things and more. If you have any suggestions for future posts then drop a comment below or reply to the social post that brought you here.
