Isolation Day 20: We did some Proper Cooking!
Turns out Pasta and Doughnuts aren’t That Hard.
Abi & I have decided that as we can’t go outside that we should adventure to the kitchen and try our hand at something new. So with the help of Sorted Food We’ve managed to create both a main and a dessert.
The heading above probably gave it away but we followed their Cinnamon French Toast, Pasta and Doughnuts recipes. All of them are really simple and well worth giving a go.
The french toast was absolutely gorgeous I wish i got a picture of it to share but as I had woke up half hour before making it I didn’t even think to pick it up. The best bit was that as Abi doesn’t like french toast I had it all to myself.
Now for Dinner we decided on a pasta dish of some description and, as the shops have all sold out, we thought we’d make our own. This time though we turned it into a competition. We both had 1 egg & 100g of Flour, but other than that we could do as we wished. the results are bellow.
They both took a bit longer than the suggested 2-3 mins as they were still a bit doughy due to their thickness. other than that though they both tasted great, though if you ask Abi she will tell you that her’s was better.
Next we decided to make some doughnuts again another rather simple recipe. Unfortunately though our yeast decided it didn’t want to work anymore, so they didn’t rise as much as they should have while frying but they were nice enough all the same.
Overall it’s been quite enjoyable, and we still have some of each left for Dinner and dessert tonight. Though I think this time rather than just pasta and sauce I may make a full spaghetti bolognase rather than just pasta in sauce.
What recipes would you recommend? What could make our meals better? Let me know in the comments bellow.
