Playing Snatch To Get Free Or Nearly Free Stuff
For the last 6 months or so I’ve been playing a game on my phone that gives me free stuff ever now and then. It called Snatch and it’s actually quite rewarding. In the past six months I have manage to wangle countless discounts at restaurants thanks to a 3 month Taste Card, 3 Months of Apple Music, Amazon Music & Tidal for free, £10 credit at Chili Movies and a month of Game Pass Ultimate just to name a few.
It comes in handy more often than you think. It may sound cheap but when you have no money and it’s a loved ones birthday it’s a great way to give them a present. I think most of my Christmas presents this year were actually from Snatch.
It’s Really easy to play. Load up the app and sign up for an account. once your setup you be taken to a map of your local area. Tap on a box case it around your location (don’t worry there’s no running involved) then wait for the box to be openable. Once your box is open tap it in the prizes tab and see what you’ve won. Be careful hough as people can also try and snatch your parcels, and you there, so make sure to either set up your auto defences or be on hand at a moments notice to defend your parcels.
you can make it easier to collect and defend your parcels by buying thing using their in credits credits. You can expand your collection circle so you don’t have to use a gadget to reach further, buy more storage so you can snatch more parcels, buy defences and much more.
There are a few things that bug me about snatch, though none of it really effects the game itself, little things that I think would make the game nicer to play
The game allows you to heart certain prizes to let it know what you would really love to win, though I still haven’t won Cold Hard Cash, a Nespresso Coffee Machine or Powerbeats Headphones. It would be great if you could mark prizes as not wanted. For example the Music Streaming offer I mentioned earlier were for new customer only, it would be great if I could say I don’t want this offer this way it could be given to someone else.
Along similar lines, it would be great if you return a prize. For example, one of the regular prizes are hampers or subscriptions to Beer52. I don’t drink so that hamper really isn’t for me. It would be great to put that prize back in the pool for everyone else who may get some use out of it.
I do wish they would stop sending me so many notifications. It’s not spam let me make that clear, I love that about Snatch, but I have set notifications to be on when I have successfully captured my parcels and they are ready to be opened. The only problem is I collect around 15 parcels at a time which means 6 hour later I get 15 notifications. It would be great if I could get one notification that tells me my parcels are read. It’s an ongoing thing in our house that we try and guess if it’s snatch or Abi’s grandad sending us a boatload of photos via WhatsApp.
My final gripe is something I completely understand but it still annoys me anyway. I’ll have a day where I get nothing but prizes then a week or so where all I get are items from the in App Store. It feels like the prizes have all been dumped into a database and been told to go as quick as possible. It would give me more reason to play daily if I was more likely to get prizes daily rather than a whole bunch once a week.
My few gripes aside Snatch is a great game that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys playing in AR and getting things for free. If you feel like giving snatch a try use this link to grab yourself 1000 in game credits.
