Isolation Day 39: We need a new Fish Tank

It’s all fun and games until there’s a crack in the glass.

So we were doing a routine cleaning of the fish tank last night when the worst happened. A crack appeared. Some how between walking the thing from the living room (empty I might add) and walking through the door of the bathroom a crack appeared in the side panel.

I have worked on shows that cost a fortune to put on and not been stressed out. But I tell you now trying to find something in the house that will fit the fish and the filter and keeping the floaty things alive was stressful. It turns out that the only thing we have is the bowl from our big air fryer. Though I should admit that if we didn’t have to worry about the cats getting in to them we may have gone with the wok.

The next problem was getting some lighting into theFish Tank Mk.2. We could have used the light from the Air fryer but that would have had the slight disadvantage of cooking the fish and getting a visit from the RSPCA, so we used the wok lid instead. I ended up using a 2M RGB LED strip I got free with my keyboard and mouse.

As it turns out, our big Black Moor Gold Fish is a bit of a rave monkey.

We have now got a new fish tank, the same as the old tank, but unfortunately the gold fish’s days of raving are over, as there is nowhere to mount the LED Strip on the new tank. Though when Abi decides on her new even bigger tank I may had a few LED objects to the tank “to add atmosphere”.

Have you gone through this dramatic experience? What did you use as a temporary home for your fish? Let me know in the comments below.
