Isolation Day 22: Return of the Updates

I Really Hate Windows… Have I told you that?

You know when you want to do a really simple task on your computer to make life easier, then everything decided to go against you.

Well today was one of those days. All I wanted to do was enable the remote desktop features on our home server and share a couple of drives. Of course Windows had other plans.

First off the screen wouldn’t output anything. Nothing a quick restart wouldn’t fix… Or so I thought. Three 1 hour updates later I finally managed to tick the singular box to enable remote desk.

Then came the next set of updates. God knows how but in the five minuets it took me to get to the hidden setting in the windows 10 interface, what happened to just right clicking on the My computer icon, Windows decided it needs another major update lasting another 2 hours.

Seriously how the hell does microsoft expect anyone to get any work done. Whilst I was waiting for the multitude of updates to happen I’d boot up my laptop and do a bit of work on WYSIWYG. At first everything went well, Only because I was running Blender in MacOS to create a new set piece.

But then the inevitable happened I bootcamp into Windows and my laptop starts yet another update, the first of three to come in the short few of hours that I was actually trying to use my laptop. At least I got the set pieces imported in between the 1st and 2nd updates.

After finally getting through all the updates I did manage to spend a couple of hours playing with WYSIWYG and manage to come up with a singular quick render in the design engine.

It’s still a work in progress and hasn’t been connected to a lighting desk yet, so I can actually focus the moving lights in a controllable way. I’m also planning on adding a few movers on the floor. You may have noticed that I’ve added some bars to the back of the stage these are actually all LED Battens and LED Sticks but I didn’t turn them on for this render, as I’d seen them all day in the quick view.

I plan on playing with this stage for a few hours a day and eventually film a video along to some music. I thinking possible the Prodigy or maybe Rammstein as a bit of a present for the wife.

Have you been getting a ridiculous amount of Windows updates? What do you think of my new set design? What music would you like me to light this set to? Let me know in the comments below.
