I’ve wanted to write an app for ages
For a long while now I’ve wanted to learn how to write an app for iOS, macOS & Apple TV. nothing overly complicated just something to start me on the way to learning the basics of app creation.
Another reason I’m wanting to start now is that with Apple moving over to arm to power their computers I’ll only have to create one app instead of the two separate ones
The thing that is worrying me the most is not the coding itself but how to connect the UI to the code or how to pull feeds from other sources such as youtube. I suppose that is what the learning experience is all about though.
after completing whichever course I find for free I’d like to create an app that shows multiple videos feeds from YouTube so that when I’m watching a rocket launch I can have both everyday astronauts feed and the SpaceX mission control audio. This could be expanded to the YouTube multiview / vision mixer I mentioned in one of my previous posts.
I’d also like to a simple racing game that uses real-world map data to create the race tracks but that would involve creating cars and tracks in blender and creating the worlds in unity before somehow getting them to work in Xcode. I don’t think this idea is going to happen for a long while yet.
What apps would you like to see? do you think I can create either of my app ideas? where is the best online tutorial for swift? Let me know in the comments below.
P.S. I wrote this using the Apple scribble feature on my iPad Pro that I mentioned in my last post. It’s not been the easiest of experiences but I’m sure that with a bit of time (for both me and Siri to learn) It may be a bit easier. Now if only I could get Grammarly on iPad.
